What impressed you most about the children known as the "Dumb" Orphans?

These kids were an amazing group. Against all odds, they found ways to better themselves. I was very impressed by their desire to learn how to read and write. They were excited and motivated to learn. They found ways to streamline their chore time with more efficiency so that they could convince Aiyasha to be their teacher in the clandestine "briefcase" class hidden in the woods and using only sticks and dirt to learn to read and write.

What things impressed you about these kids?

When I think about a group of children without parental love, guidance, and supervision, I expect them to be wild and undisciplined. "Lord of the Flies" barbarians comes to mind. Yet, here is the story of children who tenderly care for their younger group members. Where did they find the will to succeed in the face of harsh living conditions? Their strong hearts and brave souls impresses me.

What impressed me most about the “Dumb” Orphans was their unwavering determination to overcome adversity. Despite being labeled and marginalized, they showcased resilience and a profound sense of unity, turning their hardships into a powerful journey of hope and transformation.
