While I might recommend the first two books to a young audience, I think that the reading level of the third book is only suited for an older YA audience. I also think this book would be best when read with an adult to help guide and explain.

I would recommend this book to older children, I think the themes are difficult to explain to younger children. The book is more suited to young adults.

I would recommend this book to young mature children above 12 years as the concept and the theme may be a bit difficult to comprehend for smaller ones.

I think it would be a great book for parents to read to younger children, but probably not younger than 8 or 9. It does get a bit complicated in the third book. I think it is better suited for middle school age kids (11-13) all the way up to adults. I loved it, and I'm an old lady.

This is a great book for readers above the age of 8. The younger kids will need parents to read and explain certain parts as they may be too complex for younger kids-especially part 3 of the book.

Adults and older children who can understand or are interested in the struggles that the orphans had to overcome are the ones I would recommend this book to. Younger children would not understand many of the concepts in this book.

I see that most of you recommend this book to young adults because of the themes discussed. I find the book kind of not serving the same purpose. The cover appeals to me as a children's read if I'm being honest.

I would recommend this book to older children because the themes might be hard to explain to younger ones. It seems more suitable for young adults.

I would recommend this book to adults or young adults. The first book could be read by an older child however, the last book, especially, would not be easy for a child to understand. I also think most kids would be bored with the last book since it's written from an adult viewpoint after the orphans have grown up. I did share an overview of the book with my kids, as they seemed very offended by the title.

Although the book cover and title suggest a younger audience, I believe this book is best suited for older children and young adults.

This book seems like kids oriented but the content is suitable for elder kids where they can process the story.

I would recommend this series to families with children ages 3-14. In some cases, 12 may be the max age, however I feel this would be a great teaching and family bonding opportunity if the family were to read this together. When I was younger, my parents would read me and my siblings books and not only did we enjoy the books, we were also able to all discuss the books. Years later as adults, we still have fond memories of listening and discussing as do our parents reading and discussing. I would definitely recommend this book to families who love to read together.

I would recommend it to the elder kids, kids aged 11 to 13. The younger kids would also enjoy the book but at some points they might not get the idea of the book. It would also be a good family read.
