As a child, Samu was also a victim of his bad parents. He was a a bully and an entitled brat. While still a child, he learnt that he was mistaken in the way he treated the orphans. He tried to help them discreetly :) He eventually grew and became a decent human being. I like how the author developed his character.

At first I was completely on board with the children wanting to get revenge. I was surprised when he came back into the story as an adult and got his redemption story. But, when they shared the positive changes he had made and how he had helped the orphans learn to read by sneaking out books, I found that I enjoyed the character. He wasn’t just a spoiled rich kid.
