Insofar as the word 'should' even has meaning, then we must say that the past is exactly as it should be, everything that happened should have happened, and everything that should happen will happen

Yes, They Love You Until You Start Thinking for Yourself inspired me to embrace resilience and open-mindedness. Monica Omorodion Swaida's journey from an immigrant teenager to a successful entrepreneur highlights the power of determination and adaptability. Her emphasis on breaking free from one-dimensional perspectives encourages me to approach challenges with a broader mindset and to pursue personal growth despite societal expectations.

Yes, this book gives you a great mind shift. It allows you to see beyond 9 to 5 and envisage what you can do for yourself and others. How can you become self-sufficient? There are opportunities you may not think about that the book will open up your mind to see the possibility of it happening.

Oh yes! This book is a bank of insights. I have always been afraid to be independent and there's this big step I have been hesitant to take until I read the book.

Now I have been inspired not only to take that step, but to beleive in myself no matter the outcome as well.

Yes. The book inspired me a lot. I see the deception in people's opinions and expectations. They like to keep you in their control and get offended when you try to build a mind of your own.

This book not just inspired me but also validated a lot of my feelings. It allowed me to pursue my goals and dreams, and not be discouraged by my limitations. Owe this book for that!

Yes, the book enlightened me on resilience. Monica’s resilience made her what she is today, that is, a successful entrepreneur. The book also enlightened me on the importance of knowing what I want; she knew what she wanted and later achieved it. Which is admirable.

Not really. I like to think that I already do what I want to do and what I think needs to be done. I don’t need someone else to tell me that it’s OK to think for myself

Yes, it inspired me in many ways. The main thing that stood out for me was challenging societal norms. I will start embracing independent thinking as Monica has motivated me to stay true to myself and embrace my passions and beliefs, even when they go against traditional expectations.

Not really, I have always been described as opinionated and I am proud of that. Even if my family did not approve of my ideas or dreams (as long as they were not vulgar, rebelious or put me in danger) I had the opportunity to do what I wanted, make decisions on my own, and think for myself.

Monica Omorodion Swaida's memoir, They Love You Until You Start Thinking for Yourself, offers a raw and inspiring account of her journey from Nigeria to the United States. Her candid reflections on the challenges of immigration and the resilience required to overcome them resonate deeply. Swaida's story is a compelling reminder of the strength found in embracing one's identity and thinking independently.

Yes it did. Monica story is inspiring. She pursued her dream as a young teenager and despite having just few opportunities she didn't give up, which is admirable.

The book truly inspired me. It opened my eyes to the deception often hidden in people’s opinions and expectations. Many want to keep you under their control and become offended when you start thinking for yourself and carving your own path.
