Insofar as the word 'should' even has meaning, then we must say that the past is exactly as it should be, everything that happened should have happened, and everything that should happen will happen

The suspense in Chloe The Clone is highly effective, weaving a gripping narrative that keeps readers engaged through unexpected twists and moral dilemmas. Reviewers have praised the novel for its emotionally charged storyline and the tension that arises from the protagonist’s evolving relationship with the sentient clone, Chloe. The blend of science fiction elements with ethical quandaries creates a compelling atmosphere that maintains suspense throughout the story .

I would say it is effective, seeing how the relationship between the protagonist and the clone developed. Science fiction generally has a way of maintaining good suspense.

The suspense is highly effective and unexpected. I did not expect the relationship between Sam and Chloe to progress the way it did, that surely took me by surprise.

I think it's effective. Andropov's actions trigger events that threaten Chloe and Sam too, and you never know where the threat will come from. There are moments when Sam totally seems out of his depth, and you wonder how he's getting out of trouble.
