Were you invested in Jeannie's investigation?

I was not invested in her investigation because Jeannie is not a strong protagonist. The climax is more about the murderer than the solution to why the data was messed up.

Yes, I was. Seeing a humane element in how she faces various challenges was refreshing. She comes across as a strong central character—someone who overcomes many personal obstacles, is a taskmaster, and is sensitive enough to recognize the potential in others. Overall, she is a person with a kind heart and a strong mind.

Rani to Jeannie was too fast, I assumed some portions of it were dealt with in the earlier book in the series. Now, I am looking forward to reading the first one too to close that window.

I do have to agree with Diana that Jeannie is not a particularly strong protagonist. It felt more of an ensemble cast, which is not a bad thing as the characters were all unique and likeable in one way or another. Hence, while I did like the book, it was not due to the thrill of Jeannie's investigation alone, but rather the many moving parts within the book. At best, Jeannie can be considered the 'fan favorite' of the ensemble cast or a pseudo-protagonist than an actual protagonist.

Yes. I was invested in Jeannie's investigation. Following her through the chapters, i can say that her mental strength and courage is admirable. She remained steadfast to uncovering the mystery behind the pharmaceutical sabotage even after Dr. Dunn's tragic demise.

I was in the beginning, but quickly lost interest. I agree with others who have mentioned that Jeannie wasn't a very strong protagonist. The way the book jumped between characters made it difficult for me to feel invested in what was going on with any of them. Everything felt very surface level.

I was interested in her investigation to some extent but I lost interest at point. I actually expected something better than what Jeannie offered. Maybe I got my hopes too high.
