The cover definitely conveys the science fiction genre well. I think the cover would appeals to readers looking for a futuristic storyline with technological involvement, so the author did a great job of choosing cover art for their book!

The cover design for this book successfully draws viewers' eyes to the title in the center of the cover. The image has a futuristic look that points to the sci-fi genre. As someone who occasionally reads sci-fi but prefers other genres, I would most likely pass on reading this book if I saw the cover and knew nothing else about the book.

The colors are pleasing to the eye. It is a very futuristic cover, and the design gives off a psychedelic vibe.

The cover suggests that the book is a science fiction novel. I'm curious about the shadowy figures and wonder who they are looking at. The positioning of the shadowy figures also suggests that there's a higher power exerting control over the population.

The cover certainly got my attention. Science fiction is one of my favorite genres, and the cover does let you know right away that this is a science fiction book. When I saw that this was the BOTM, I looked up the synopsis, and now it's in my to-read pile. I love the premise of this story: a group of friends entering a simulation to escape their lives for a bit, but it appears they get more than they expected out of the experience, and not all of it is good. I'm looking forward to reading this one.

I think that the cover portrays the genre of the book really well. A reader, just looking at it, would be able to tell that it’s a science fiction novel. But, the characters aren’t really portraying the title itself in the best way.

The book cover sort of gives me a Matrix feel. It definitely screams sci-fi to me. When I look at the cover I see multiple people standing in jumpsuits, in what appears to be some kind of metal structure, my brain automatically goes to spaceship. I would definitely pick up this book and read the cover to see what it is about as it is very gripping.

The colors are visually appealing, and the cover effectively communicates the realm of the science fiction theme. The cover has a hallucinogenic feel to it and is quite intriguing.

The cover of Anticipation Day didn’t really work for me. It feels a bit dated and lacks the visual punch I’d expect from a story that likely deals with tension, build-up, or something big on the horizon—based on the title.

Instead, it gives off more of a self-published, early 2000s vibe, and not in a nostalgic way. I found myself more interested in the title than the design, which is a missed opportunity.

Jeff Michelson's cover for Anticipation Day really grabbed my attention. It feels otherworldly. The neon blue tones give off this intense, high-tech vibe that made me think of a sci-fi gripping thriller. The mirrored figures and that tunnel-like setting give me a feeling of alternate realities. Personally, I find the whole design really striking and totally in sync with what looks like an action-filled story.

The cover draws attention to the abstract pattern first, then the people. I feel the color choice for the words is poor. It blends into the background. In all, the title coloring makes it feel flat, with no anticipation or energy.

At first glance, the cover made me think of science fiction and space travel. However, after reading the book's description, I realized what the cover represented, and it made sense.
