Whenever I read, sci-fi, artificial intelligence related books I feel, Will this really happens? Or just we making random Guess or creating stories on current development in Artificial world?

What do you feel about this kind of books , which portraying the alternation of reality?

Companies such as Neuralink are developing a direct computer-brain interface, but that's an implant that requires surgery. In the novel, the simulation happens through a connection with a person's nerves, which is probably still far from reality.

I loved Jules Verne books as a kid. He talked about travel to the moon, traveling under the ocean etc. They were all far from reality at the time. So, the question is not if these things will happen, but when.
