I loved the Hunger Games trilogy. But I still only read the books once.

I've reread the entire Harry Potter series on multiple occasions, and probably will begin reading them again in the next couple of weeks.

So... I'd rather have written the Hunger Games. That way I could still enjoy Harry Potter as a reader.

Harry Potter series no question. Dystopian is great but magic will always win out for me. Dragons!! Katniss needs a dragon.

I prefer Suzanne Collins although I enjoyed Rowlings Harry Potter series as well. I just found the Hunger Game series to have more depth and meaning, geared toward an older audience.

I couldn't possibly choose. I love both series in different ways, and enjoy the styles of both writers. Although, if I had to decide on pain of death, I would say Harry Potter, since that was the first book series I ever finished, not to mention that the characters and everything drew me into their world for the first time in my life.
Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.” ~ John Green

J.K. Rowling.

Let me say that I love both the Harry Potter series and The Hunger Games series. I recommend both to avid readers because I enjoyed both books. But if we based this solely off the series then I have to give the crown to Rowling. Harry Potter was just a more thorough and complete piece of work. Rowling, to me, is a better writer. I see that even now in the two novels she has released since the Potter series. I look forward to more novels from both authors.
All I need is a new book and a place to read it...

As wonderful as the Hunger games series was id have to say Rowling. Just the sheer size of the fan base and how many children, including myself, were touched by the Harry Potter series just can't be matched.

I think if it was a single choice, people could have wanted to be Suzanne Collins. She is obviously a successful writer and has succeeded in creating an interesting story with good characters. But I think the obvious answer is J. K. Rowling. Not only the books are based on solid ground (being fantasy books, that is) and feature great characters and stories, it is also the mos succesful book series of all time, and not without good reason. The books are not only good stories but they are also have good literary value. Having written Harry Potter is definately something to be proud of.

Rowling and Collins are authors of two very different series. If I had to choose however, I'd go with Rowling. After all, she's the only author who has had her book series turned into an amusement park!!!

Suzanne Collins: i like that her series has a lot of meaning and resemblances to what society is going on today.
J.K Rowling is a master, but Collins is more my flavor of ice-cream.

I don't think I can choose between the two simply for the reason that I like them for two entirely different reason. If I had to choose, I would choose rowling because harry potter was a big part of my childhood
