I would say it all started in 5th grade when I read a book called "A Solitary Blue" by Cynthia Voigt. It was the first book I ever read that took me away to another place; that I could not forget and that I could relate to. To this day, I still read this book once a year even though it is geared towards youth as I have such fond memories of it!

For me it was a series. I used to read a lot if the Bailey School Kids (Vampires Don't Wear Polka Dots and such) but I really started to love reading when I read Stepping on the Cracks by Mary Downing Hahn. That book always stuck with me, I think I was 11? I'm 31 now, so it's been a long time, and I still think about it! ?

I've always loved to read. I read the Little House on the Prairie books multiple times. Then came Anne of Green Gables. When I got older I began reading all of Danielle Steele ' s books. She had a way of telling a story that drew me in.

I've read throughout my childhood but I think once I read the Percy Jackson series in the fifth grade, I was hooked. I have the whole series on my shelf and sometimes pull a random one out on a rainy day.

I have never liked politics, so I decided to get out my comfort zone and read 1984. My god, George Orwell is an amazing writer and now I can not stop reading his short stories. He has opened up this new chapter in my life that helps me become aware of worldwide problems and history.

I'm 33 yrs old and quite dyslexic. When I was in 5th grade my reading level was that if a 2nd grader. The summer before 6th grade I picked up a few Christopher Pike books at a yard sale. I wasn't a fan of reading because it was so hard for me but the books looked cool lol. That summer I ended up reading most of Pike's books and moved on to Dean Koontz. Those two did it for me, my reading level skyrocketed and I note read a book every day to two days. I loved Pike as a teen and love love love Koontz now!

I have loved reading for such a long time... Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen would have to be that one special novel that changed me into an obsessive reader. I remember reading it when I was about 12 and having a dictionary open beside me, to help ease the way through.. It remains a favourite to this day.

To be completely honest, I have been into reading for so many years I can't exactly remember which author started it all for me. However, there are a few that stick out in my mind. Anne Rice and Terry Brooks are the two that I remember reading a lot of when I was in high school.

I think the first author that really got me interested in reading was R.L. Stein. As a teenager I graduated from spooky books to horror novels through Stephen King. I still love Stephen King books and they still give me chills!

I have been reading all my life. there is no single author for me but I do enjoy a good well written story. I.like biographies and historical novels. I just finished allison weir's book on the young queen Elizabeth 1st. I also enjoy non fiction. If it's good I will love it. Looking forward to reading some new authors.

I've always loved to read, Judy Blume and Beverly Cleary were my favorites even before kindergarten. My teenage years were spent mostly with Dean R. Koontz and Stephen King, my twenties with Michael Connelly and Patricia Cornwell (and Barbara Park and J.K. Rowlings for the kids), and my thirties are more eclectic -- anything from Nora Roberts to Beverly Lewis, Dan Brown to Rhonda Byrne.

Mary Pope Osborne's Magic Tree House series. Once I started I never looked back! I actually used to hate reading up until my teacher handed me the first Magic Tree House book. I still have them all on my bookshelf at home :D

For me, it was Dean Koontz's book The Taking. I really enjoyed that book so much. I eventually bought every book he had ever written, which was a lot. I also love Stephen King (have all his too). I'm working on Anne Rice too. But Dean Koontz is my first love.

Honestly, I have always loved to read. I don't remember the author off the top of my head but one of my favorite book series growing up was about this young girl back when they were still making their way out west. Her mother died right after her little sister was born and she suddenly had all this responsibility. I don't know why, but I loved it and have been in love with reading ever since!
