She was dying cold. Therefore I can see your point, the last thing a man feels before he freezes to death is warmth, that's the warning sign for him to get moving or die. She felt the warmth and did not think to move from it like the good soul that she was. Personally, I am with Camus on this one, live fast and die hard. To me, it is only way to live.

Little Match Girl is still amazing either way, Carusmm.

Yes, laci_baby, it is a beautiful little story: somewhat mystical but not bad for that.

I'm just curious Carusmm .. how do you know this?

Someone once told me that the 'easiest' way to die is to drown as long as you don't struggle ... I've always wondered how he came by that gem!

Exhaustion is the natural state of a mystic, i.e., visions come not via God but via the nervous system.

Sorry Fran. We're never going to know what he meant seeing as he's now gone from the forums. I suppose we just try to make up our own mind about what he was talking about, yeah?

Well, people who ALMOST frozen to death have told about this phenomenon.

I remember having H.C s collection when I was young, big red books. But young and poor I sold them :(
That I of course regret today.

Me too, count me in, I like Hans Christian Andersen's stories. I generally like fairytales. I won't be original here and say that my favourite is "Little Match Girl" as well.
