Agatha Christie!! I just love her books...they are witty, well written, and I can never ever figure out the murderer.
I must say though that I mainly 'read' her as audiobook, while doing things...I prefer to use my actual reading time on some more 'serious' works..

Ummm...I hate admitting this but....ummm...errrr...Nicholas Sparks. I'm a sucker for a sappy tragic love story. What can I say? I know he's not a great writer, but I can't help myself.

My guilty pleasure is reading Twilight (not the series just the first book) so I would have to say Stephanie Meyer. I don't have to think when I read it so its a very relaxing book.

My guiltiest pleasure reads are the Maljean Brook Iron Seas books. They are amazing! Probably the best steampunk setting I have ever read, and with a good amount of action and some definite...steam. I do wish they would come out with some covers without shirtless men on the covers, but I guess I've been caught in public reading worse...

My favorite guilty pleasure reading is actually more of a genre. I love to pick up cook books, especially baking, kids cooking, and really old cook books. Many of them will never produce a single edible product in my house, but I love to always have something new to look at.

It's a tie between Stephen King, Diana Gabaldon, and Elizabeth George. I love Jamie and Inspector Lynley. Oh, and there's also John D. MacDonald. Travis McGee is the man. I have a Master's in English so I wouldn't admit to anyone that I love them, but I really do. I've read almost everything be each of them. Don't tell, though, please?!!

Hands down Janet Evanovich. Evanovich writes in a humorous, down to earth manner. She's not an author that is out for the fairy tail ending at the end of all of her books where someone must fall in love or live happily ever after. The main character Stephanie in the Stephanie Plum series never has a perfect day and doesn't live a life of luxury. She's a bounty hunter, is barely living paycheck to paycheck, and lives in a small apartment with her hamster, Rex. Sometimes it's good to read about someone's perfect lifestyle as we can all be envious of that, but Evanovich writes about the average, every day person and can always give you a good laugh to make that mediocre day a bit better.

Charlaine Harris and/or Janet Evanovich. You pick which is guiltier. They are both great to read on the beach with a beer.

My guilty pleasure author is Christopher Moore. He writes some of the most hilarious novels I have ever read. A lot of them don't make any sense but I can't put them down and I am laughing the entire time. I can't wait for his new novel coming next year! I recommend his novels to anyone who would just like to laugh and live a little!
All I need is a new book and a place to read it...

Linda Winstead Jones - she writes romance novels but in particular I love the Sisters of the Sun trilogy and the sequel Children of the Sun trilogy but I also love her fairytale adaptations like Jackie and the Giant and the Big bad wolf.

Conan Doyle. Reading him is the literary equivalent of doing a crossword puzzle, but I maintain that he is one of few authors to write a character that exceeds the talents of its creator.
