As someone who's really into reading, picking just one favorite author is tough. I'm all about philosophical writers like Albert Camus and Franz Kafka, and of course, our own Iranian legend Sadegh Hedayat. But I also dig the thrillers from Stephen King and Sidney Sheldon. I'm a big fan of Isaac Asimov, and of course, a few generations before him, Jules Verne. I enjoy reading the works of Jane Austen and Emily Brontë.
Whenever I dive back into Dostoevsky's works, it's like rediscovering the joy all over again. For me, if I were to choose, among all these different genre, Dostoevsky has managed to strike a beautiful balance between fiction and philosophy. His smooth narrative pulls the reader along while simultaneously delving into deep philosophical discussions expressed through dialogues or characters' internal monologues, elevating him to a first-rate author, at least in literary fiction.

I have a few favorite authors of different genres: JK Rowling, Deborah Harkness, Colleen Hoover, Robert Bryndza, Sarah MacLean, Deborah Smith, Isabel Stilwell, Dorothy Koomson, Judith McNaught and Jojo Moyes. In general, I adore their writing styles and the way they bring their characters to life.

My favorite contemporary author is Stephen King. I really enjoy horror and dark fiction and King is the master. However, my favorite author of all time is H.P. Loveceaft. Lovecraft writes what chills readers to the core!

This is one of those questions that always throws me off; I feel like every time someone asks it, I immediately forget every book/author I've ever read. Currently the person who comes to mind is Jodi Meadows, who wrote (among other things) a young adult series called Orphan Queen. The way she wrote character relationships and interactions was super compelling to me, and it always fascinates me to think about how an author would plan aspects of their novels I find interesting - in this case there's a massive web of character ineractions where one person knows the other from somewhere, and the other knows the first from somewhere else, so they're all interacting based on different pretexts, and it fascinates me to no end. I actually reached out to her a while back, after I read the books, just to tell her how much I enjoyed them, and she replied and was lovely so that was an awesome experience too!

My all time favorite is Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson mainly since Brandon finished Robert's Wheel of Time series I see them as almost the same author. I look forward to any new work put out by Brandon Sanderson. I truly love the way he blends sci/fi space and the fantasy world.

One of my favorite authors is Paulo Coehlo because of his simple yet profound stories. Honestly, though it has been a long time since I have had the time to read and I am finally carving sometime to do that now again and looking forward to making new favorite authors,

Paulo Coelho is without a doubt my favorite author; I love reading his novels, which are largely about spirituality and mystery. His use of imagination allows me to travel to other universes, and his explorations of happiness and the meaning of life are truly amazing.

When I was in my teens, I loved horror stories and of course Stephen King was my favourite. I still like his books but growing up I kind of prefer a bit lighter reading; the same goes for movies. I love mystery novels and I can't get enough of Patricia Gibney's mystery series of Lottie Parker. I love detective stories, secret agents, solving mysteries and murders.
Any suggestions of authors or books similar to my likings are very much welcomed.

My favorite author is Charlene Harris who is known for her books of vampires in Louisiana. The HBO series True Blood is based off of her books. I have gone back and read some of her older books which were good. I think the true blood books are her best.
