I try to read a deep, intelligent, well respected book every couple months, but , my main indulgence is "brain candy". I love easy, cheesy and sleezy! I love my vampire romances (Meyers and Harris). I think it's great to see all reading as good, not just the socially acceptable high brow "literature". It's especially nice to see all those of you adults admitting your Twilight obsessions. All Hail the guilty pleasure reading!

My guiltiest reads (though I feel no guilt while reading them) are Rachel Vincent's werecat series and Yasmine Galenorn's Sister of the Moon series.

I like the way some of you view it-- nothing needs to be a guilty pleasure! :D
I'm not at all a literary snob, but I do call some books brain candy. And I love them. Charlaine Harris' Sookie books feel like that to me, and they are great! But... brain candy. I'm also a magazine reader, in the same way.

Would have to agree. The paperback covers of Magic Kingdom of Landover series are enough to make you fold over the pages so no-one can see what you're reading!

Oh I really like that one....although I wish it was so easy with all my family members mocking Twilight and others.

I love the IDEA of a assortment of them, like with a bookstore proprietor sleuth or a wine admirer sleuth. But regrettably, this is genre I have many of unfinished publications in, because the scribe couldn't rather convey it off.

Jilly Cooper! Absolute rubbish but I love them.

Also, the books that I used to read when I was younger - Judy Blume, Sweet Valley High, things like that.

I'm really sad, I know!

I like the old cheezy, mostly badly-written pulp stories from the 20' and 30's. Astounding Stories Of Super-Science, Weird Tales, the Doc Savage books, Sax Rohmer stuff like that. I know, I guess I read crap but I like it. :D
