Do you read Charles deLint?

Post by Erin Painter Baker »

Wondering if anyone here besides me is a fan of Charles deLint? I'm not really certain where his books would be categorized. I think of them as fantasy, but they might be better considered magical realism, and they definitely have a literary bent to them. And some, like The Cats of Tanglewood Forest, are young adult.

I've loved everything I've read by him and was just wondering if there were other fans of his here. And if there are, are there other similar authors you might recommend?

I have read a couple of his books and liked them. I plan to read others. Which are his best books?

I agree they can be considered magical realism.

His latest novel, The Wind in His Heart, was a beautiful read. I also really enjoyed Mulengro, Spirits in the Wires, Windershins, and The Onion Girl.
My daughter loved his YA novel, The Cats of Tanglewood Forest.

He has written so many books that I am certain I have forgotten at least a few others that I have read.
