I picked up The Edible Woman by Margaret Atwood about two years ago, and I've been in love with her novels ever since. Any other Atwood fans out there? If so, what is your favorite book, and why?

I am a huge fan of Margaret Atwood. I love her Blind Assasin, The Handmaid's Tale and Orynx and Crake.

I'm a great Atwood fan - looking forward to hearing her at Hay Festival this summer. I love The Year of the Flood and Maddaddam, but not really keen on Oryx and Crake - I find it only bearable in conjunction with the other two. I also admire The Robber Bride and Cat's Eye - and, of course, The Handmaid's Tale.

I recently read The Handmaid's Tale for the first time, and I loved it so much. I read it after I read George Orwell's 1984, and it was everything I had been expecting 1984 to be! My friend recommended that I read another of her's next! I honestly can't remember what my friend recommended but I'm going to ask and then write it down so I can read it!

I have only read The Handmaid's Tale, but would recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it. It was wonderful, and such a great cautionary tale/dystopian story.

The Robber Bride is one of my favorite books and Margaret Atwood is an amazing talent.

The Handmaid's Tale is obviously wonderful. I couldn't make it through Alias Grace, however.

I recently read The Heart Goes Last and that was... interesting. It was like a Black Mirror episode. A little too far fetched, perhaps.

What's another book of hers with a more feminist kick like Handmaid's?

I read Blind Assassin and The Handmaid's Tale and loved both!

My favorite's of hers are The Handmaids Tale, The Oryx and Crake Trilogy and I'm currently reading her book Bluebeard's Egg. Oh and my favorite poetry book of hers is The Circle Game.

I think Alias Grace is one of her bests. But The Handmaid's Tale is a close runner-up.

I've only read Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale. I bought the book because I wanted to watch the TV series (I always try to read the book before watching the adaptation). A terrifying read.

I would have preferred to have the book end with Offred being taken away, as the additional chapter at the lecture talking about whether it was genuine and confirming she would have escaped ruined it for me. I feel it would've been better for the reader to decide that.

I love The Handmaid's Tale because in an interview she said that all the awful things that happened in the story were copied from real life events that have already transpired - she shows the world the horrors that have been overlooked elsewhere.

I’ve never heard of her but I have heard of The Handmaids Tale. Are there any sexual scenes in it?? I’d like to read it if not.

I don’t know if I can identify myself as Margaret Atwood fans. I read her book HandMaid's Tale. This is a good book about a very bad, sick and scary society. The book is written beautifully, but the story that is told in it really scares me.

maybe it is a bit cliche, but I really was taken aback with how good The Handmaid's Tale was. I'm really interested in the sequel (I think it's coming out this month?)
