I just got my "Burglars Can't Be Choosers" in the mail today. I'm a little more than half way finish with it already! So far i love his writing style and the way he sets up his humor in a timely fashion as well. Definitely will check out his other stuff.YankeesJTJ wrote:Has anyone read the Mathew Scudder Series by Lawrence Block? I recently picked up his first one (written in 1976) called Sins of hte fathers. I really enjoyed it, but was a huge departure from "The Burglar" Series with Bernie Rhodenbarr which I have always loved.
I, too, would like to know how his other series are besides Bernie Rhodenbarr's series.

All of them are completely different from each other. The Burglar series is by far the funniest. Scudder is more of a hardboiled type series - it gets quite violent in the middle books. I don't really recall the other series well other than that I didn't like the Chip Harrison books at all (rather I didn't like the one and 1/2 books of the series I read - the others in the series could be exceptional, I'll never know).
