Review of Eric and Jenny
Eric and Jenny by Rita Elena Nimpo follows the love story of Eric and Jenny. Eric is a 35-year-old corporate lawyer and a billionaire. He inherited immense wealth from his family, a multi-generational fortune dating back to the nineteenth century. Eric and Jenny's love story begins in a coffee shop. Jenny accidentally collides with Eric, spilling coffee on his fancy work outfit. Remorseful and apologetic, she offers to clean up the mess by buying Eric a new outfit. Eric, however, declines, as he has other spare shirts in his office. In the process, the duo exchanges contacts. What began as an accident turned out to be more, as Jenny was not only the missing piece to Eric's empty life but also someone who would make him impact the world in ways he could never have imagined. I immensely enjoyed it.
There were several things I liked about this book. First, I couldn't help but notice the value Eric placed on friends and long-term family ties. He seemed to realize the importance of strong ties and did not let affluence blind him into turning his back on the people who mattered most in his life. Second, the book contains themes of grief and loss. I liked the steps the characters took to emerge victorious, despite the challenges they were going through. Readers will learn from how they dealt with grief and loss, making this book entertaining and informative. Third, I liked how well the story wrapped up. The ending was satisfactorily done, tying the loose ends and answering the questions I had while reading.
What I liked most about this book was that it was not only a love story but also one containing themes that touch on positive human-impact endeavors. This story shows how women can use their husbands' influential societal positions to change the world. I liked Jenny's golden heart and the various philanthropic initiatives she participated in to serve the underprivileged in society. Many readers will find that aspect likable, too.
Overall, I disliked nothing in this book. I found only a few errors, indicating it was professionally edited. None of them was distracting and didn't affect my final rating. Therefore, I am glad to give Eric and Jenny by Rita Elena Nimpo five out of five stars. The fact that it was well-executed, informatively explored ways to deal with grief and had themes touching on positive human-impact endeavors made me give it the highest rating. This remarkable love story deserves each of the stars I've given it.
I highly recommend Eric and Jenny to fans of romance novels full of life lessons that incorporate worthwhile human endeavors. Readers should, however, note that this book contains sensitive themes like self-harm, and it also makes use of strong language. Except for readers who may be affected by such, I can't think of another section of the audience that may find less suitable.
