Undead and. by Mary Janice Davidson.

While also being a fantasy book (vamps, werewolves, etc...) these commonly get categorized in the romance section. Fair enough, I supposes. However, I think many people don't know about this amazing series because of that. If you shy away from anything Harlequin romance, you won't be anywhere near the romance section.
If you enjoy a more humorous take on vampirism, with tiny bits of romance thrown in (a husand wife love thing, no orgys or the like) I highly recommend you look into this series! I don't want to say too much for fear of spoilers, but it's definitely a new take on 'paranormal.'

I thoroughly enjoyed the undead series, however I found the last few books felt as though she was just pushing through the books to get them over with. It's disappointing because I started to really bond with Betsy and Sink-lair!

Geonna, I thought I was the only one! I was VERY disappointed with the last couple of books, but I can't just let the series go un-read! (haha, un-dead...un-read...) Anyway, here's hoping Unwary due to release in November pulls all this crap together!

I'm have my fingers crossed! I have a terrible habit of not being able to let go of a series when it's clearly dead (via Sookie Stackhouse novels - if you liked the last few, i'm sorry!). Too much invested into it now, she HAS to pull it all together for us! :D un-read, un-dead..I get it haha

I gave up on the Sookie novels after book 4. I'll just watch True Blood. As for Undead... I'll give MJ the benefit of the doubt.

I completely agree! The first book had me pissing myself with laughter (exaggeration, but not by much) but as the series progressed, the writing began to suffer. The last couple of books were in desperate need of an editor, tbqh, I found myself becoming progressively more confused and that's saying a lot since I read a lot of self published books.

I agree with you all about her pushing thru her last few books of the series! But I did love her quirky take of betsy and I laughed so much because I couldn't help myself. Her trilogy "fred the mermaid" is also a good read.
