Happenstance by Jamie Mcguire

Post by jasminehambrick »

Jamie McGuire does it again everyone. Happenstance is a great book, it reminds me of Beautiful Disaster, only because they are both great love stories in there own right. The Happenstance trilogy is about Erin Easter, a down on her luck gal who's grown up in a poor environment, with her never being cared for or really loved, living with her single mother who works at the local grocery store that smokes weed, cigarettes, and drinks a great amount of alcohol. Erin practically raises herself, she makes good grades and works at the local Dairy Queen just to have a little change in her pocket, hoping to make it out of her small town in Texas. She is constantly bullied by her peers especially the other two Erin's, Erin A. and Erin M. They make it there life's mission to ridicule Erin E. every moment they get. Erin doesn't know a reason in the world why they hate her, especially since they all used to be best friends until one day they never talked to her again. The only thing that keeps Erin E. motivated is getting out of that god forsaken town and her fantasies about Weston Gates, a star athlete she's had a crush on ever since she can remember, but of course she can only watch him from afar, especially when he's been Erin A.'s boyfriend since the 8th grade. But one thing Erin E. doesn't know is that Weston has always had a crush on her too, he was just always to afraid to show it, because of what everyone would think with his background and Erin Easter's. But one day Weston takes a chance and starts talking to Erin E. and wants to be her friend and get to know her, but of course Erin A. and Erin M. can't let her live in peace and of course the bullying is still there, but Erin E. has grown accustomed to her peers and has put up very thick walls, so much that nothing phases her. But one day tragedy strikes as Erin A. and Erin M. head out to enjoy spring break, and they are both killed. And from then on, nothing is ever the same. Erin E. is both stunned and relieved that she won't have to put up with her tormentors anymore, and is even more stunned when she receives news that the woman she grew up believing was her mother, wasn't her mother after all. From there we watch Erin's life change for the better, she is thrust into a life of privilege and love, things she's only dreamed about, and she even has the boy of her dreams Weston Gates. We also follow Erin in her transition, which is not an easy one, her peers still treat her with ill manners and she is still in a state of shock. We follow Weston and Erin's love story, it is unbelievable, that their love is so strong, especially Weston's. The story has you in Awww of how incredible the love between the two are. I love the fact that the series ends with a Happily Ever After. I give it 4 thumbs up, and it should be well on its way to a Lifetime move, ABC family, something. Young love is so sweet, innocent, and blissful. I would love to watch it, and I know that someone will offer Jamie McGuire a deal soon, her books never miss the mark. Don't sleep on this, you'll be missing a very good thing!!!
