Nineteen years old Cheyenne's mask of perfect life is threatened when she catches Gregory, her boyfriend of two years, with another girl in his apartment. In order to show everyone that she isn't affected by it and she can move on, she decides to get a fake boyfriend (because she doesn't want a real one).
Thus enters Colt. He is your kinda asshole-ish, tattooed, 21 years old, drug dealer, guy. He doesn't want to study in college but his mother Bev, who is in the last stage of cancer, wants him to get a degree.
Colt decides to help Cheyenne because of his serious dislike for Gregory and, of course, for the money. And so, their Charade begins.

In beginning, you will feel that Cheyenne is fake, trying to be perfect all the time, but as you will continue to read, you will realize that she had her own reasons. More than just a cheating boyfriend.
Same goes for Colt. He is a prick, but he is your Caring, Using-his-asshole-personality-to-hide-the-real-him-from-others prick.
I also loved Colt's mother Bev. And actually cried my eyes out when she died.

Charade is an exceptionally well written standalone new adult romance novel. It is more than just your typical love story. It deals with real life problems, too.
For me it was an emotional rollercoaster. Simply out of the world Beautiful!
