Collage by Lydia Legend
Collage is a romance novel focusing on two very independent individuals. Sierah King is a lovely woman. She is also the owner of her company and a dependable business woman with a huge heart. Isari Al-Farid is the perfect picture of success. He is powerful, has money, and loves to be in control of everything. He leads a very private life and is the owner of Farid Global, a very rich company. After his father steps down, he gains full control of everything within the enterprise. After meeting Sierah, he decides he must also have her. It becomes an obsession, and he strives to own her in his way. Isari's choice does not go over well with Seirah who brings him to his knees and begins to unravel him with her methods. This story follows these two as they build a loving relationship that breaks down each other's barriers and leads Isari to try and sway her to become his wife and give him heirs. Sierah rebels against this idea and the battle between their each other's hearts begin. How does this turn out you may wonder, well you will just have to read and see.
Collage was a fascinating book. It is the first book of the Collage series by Lydia Legend. The book focused on a crazy back and forth love dance between to motivated business people. There were a lot of heated fights and dramatic scenes in this story. The scenes more often led up to very detailed sex scenes. The author did not hold back with anything on these scenes. Because of all the sexual content, I feel that this book is not appropriate for anyone under the age of 18. It is very R-rated, and I felt embarrassed myself to be reading some of what was written.
One thing that I liked about this book was the differences the author expressed of the Arabic culture compared to cultural norms of New York. There were several parts of the reading that were written in Arabic, which fascinated me. The author also portrayed the importance of family to her main characters and what powerful things happened in their past to help shape them.
Things I did not like about the book include the grammatical errors, misspelled words, improper use of singular and plural words, and how paragraphs were not separated to show that the conversation had changed to someone new or that the scene had changed completely. These errors were noticed consistently throughout the entire book. It almost made me quit reading it, but the story line of the two lovebirds had me hooked. I had to see how they ended up. With this being said, because there were so many errors I rate it a 2 out of 4. It was difficult for me to finish the reading because of these mistakes and because I liked the story line and found it easy to follow I am not giving it 1 out of 4.
