Leslie Thornton, the main character in Kate Goldman’s new book, More Than a Game takes a new job as a computer programmer. She is given the task of developing a hockey app. The only problem is that she knows absolutely nothing about the game. She meets Shane O’Hannon and he invites her to come to a few games. He offers to teach her the aspects of the game in exchange for being featured in the app. Leslie finds Shane not only intelligent, but also good looking. Sonya who is Leslie’s best friend owns a sweet and bake shop downtown. She gets up with the chickens to bake the goodies. Shane invites Leslie to his home to show her what hockey fans might be interested in a an app about hockey. When Harrison Clarke is injured during a hockey game Shane’s career is put in jeopardy and the budding relationship between Leslie and Shane is challenged. Find out whether they will be able to face the consequences together or… ? Kate Goldman always delivers a great story for her reading fans. Well written and an excellent plot. Great characters and twists that keep you guessing. I have rated this book a solid 5 star rating. I look forward to reading more of the works of Kate Goldman.
