The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks is about Ira and Ruth, and Sophia and Luke. Two couples that have little in common and are separated by years and experiences. Ira is a 91 year old man that has been in a car accident and is injured. While he is stranded in is car the image of his dead wife Ruth comes to visit him. She is making him hang on till help arrives by taking him down memory lane. Making him remember their life together. Sophia is a college student a Wake University. At a local bull riding event she meets Luke, a young and very handsome cowboy. (Scott Eastwood is awesome in the movie!) Luke introduces Sophia to his world, where stakes are high and facing life and death are part of his every day life. This book is truly a wonderful read! I can honestly say that my favorite parts of this book is the story of Ira and Ruth. Their life together was so full of love and understanding. It will make your heart melt.
Another great read by Nicholas Sparks. Has two in one kinda story going on. You should definatly read this novel if you are a romance junkie as I am. It definately will pull at your heart strings.
I loved this book! Sophia and Luke have unconditional love for each other, but she has to let go of him because she can't see him getting hurt. He wasn't willing to sacrifice "something" that he loved for "someone" that he loved, until the end of course. They had to distance themselves quite a lot in order to understand what their love was capable of. Ira and Ruth's love story was an inspiration to Sophia and Luke. Ira and Ruth's story made me cry like a baby, because it was so beautiful. The fact that Ira kept all those letters made my heart melt. Great read!
I loved it I usually hate romance novels but this one was great and I hate chick flick movies but when I watched this move I throughly enjoyed it. The old mans stories about his wife and his relationship was beautiful.
