I saw a lot of recommendations for Jodi Ellen Malpas on this site and others, so I checked out The Protector. First, I have to say that I'm pretty sure the awful dad in this story was based on Donald Trump, haha. The book is about Camille, aspiring fashion designer, and her relationship with her daddy-appointed bodyguard, Jake. It's a pretty basic story - she doesn't like him at first but then she gets to know him, falls in love, a few things get in the way of happiness but ultimately, they get their happily ever after. It was ok, but I've read better. I prefer reading romances that are more complex. I'm not sure if I'll check out other books by this author.
