Crave for Me: Three Short Tales of Erotic Romance, by Rebecca Chase, is an entertaining and titillating journey of sexual discovery and fulfillment. As an enthusiast of erotic fiction, these stories provided the sexual zing and provocative narrative that draws readers of this genre back time and again. Desire, plain and simple, is the word to describe what Chase provides for her readers. In each story: Fight for Me, Work for Me, and Play for Me, Chase introduces a woman who is strong yet vulnerable, beautiful but not self-confident, and above all, smitten with a man who is sexy but not perfect.
Chase builds characters with which the reader can empathize. Her characters have substance but are flawed. It is part of the human condition to love, yet have the feelings remain unrequited. The yearning, the fantasies, and the if only’s all come together to build the desire to the flash point, and when those desires finally come to fruition, oh, what a relief it is! Chase’s insight into the insecurities and fear of rejection that people have when beginning a relationship or taking an existing relationship to the next level, is evident in each of her stories. She portrays this from both the male and female point of view. Chase also depicts the need that many people have, to be wanted, to inspire that “Got to have you now,” feeling, making her stories all the more powerful.
In Fight for Me, Chase introduces three siblings: Juliet, Chris, and Phil who are preparing for Chris’s wedding. Out for the night to celebrate, the siblings encounter lifelong friend and Juliet’s teenage crush, Joe Adams. Joe, on leave from the Army to attend the wedding, is home after seven years away. For Juliet, this brings back the crushing feelings of desire and insecurity she felt as a teenager. Unbeknownst to Juliet, Joe has feelings for her. From the couple’s fiery reunion at the club to the wedding and beyond, Chase has the reader pulling for these two to find a way into each other’s arms.
In Work for Me, Chase brings together Alana and Nick and delivers a tale filled with sexual tension and erotic interludes. Alana, recently out of an unhealthy relationship, has moved into an apartment on her own and has regained her independence. She needs a kitchen renovation and has asked Nick, the sexy maintenance and handyman at her work to lend a hand. Alana and Nick have a friendly work relationship, but Alana wants more. Nick, quick-witted and drop-dead gorgeous, has been friendly and flirtatious at work. What will happen when Alana brings Nick into her home? Will the flirtation become the ‘more’ that Alana is hoping for?
In Play for Me, Chase introduces Kate, a teacher preparing for her Grade Five piano exam. Her teacher, Ronald, is crotchety and always finds fault in her performance. Full of insecurity, Kate crawls into her car to proceed to the lesson when suddenly, she flashes back eight years to her final piano lesson in high school with Mr. Chapman, her teenage crush. Sexual images and yearnings flash through her mind. Shaking herself from her sexual fantasy and back to reality, Kate proceeds to her lesson. To her utter shock and amazement, Kate finds not crotchety Ronald, but her teenage fantasy in the flesh – Nate Chapman. Heart pounding, mouth dry, Kate decides to seize the opportunity fate has thrown her way. This erotic tale brings new meaning to the phrase ‘play for me’!
Overall, Chase's Crave for Me delivers in the desire department. Chase ratchets up the tension slowly in each story until the inhibitions and fears holding her characters back break free and they come together. I love the erotic imagery and language Chase uses to describe the love scenes, but these stories are not for the faint of heart. If you are easily offended by things of a sexual nature, then I would not recommend that you read Crave for Me. As a fan of erotic fiction, I was enthralled by the connection Chase builds between her couples and I thoroughly enjoyed this read. I only wish the stories were longer! I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

Though erotic fiction is not for me, I think you did a wonderful job of describing each of the three tales that make up this book. I can't think of anything that was lacking in your review. Again, good job!

I am working on the "knack" part. Grammar and punctuation seem to be the big challenge, but I am getting better at it!!rssllue wrote:You are quite welcome! I am glad you enjoy it. You seem to have a knack for it too!

Sounds like three very interesting and titillating stories. Though I'm not much into romance, I like your descriptions of the stories especially Play for Me
