Regency Romance: The Mad Heiress by Isabella Thorne
STORY-LINE REGENCY ROMANCE: THE MAD HEIRESS
In Regency Romance: The Mad Heiress, author Isabella Throne treats the reader to a lively suspenseful regency romance including traitors, spies, star-crossed lovers, and lonely hearts. Ten years ago, Miss Georgette Quinby, became known as the Mad Heiress after her fiancé, Sebastian, jilted her for the Duke of Eversley's sister. Georgette took a header down the stairs, or was it a cliff, or the parapets; the ton gossips could never quite get it straight. Young, emotional, jilted, and in love, she tried to commit suicide. Becoming a pariah after the incident, she has lived at her country estate with few friends. Georgette has sworn to never give her heart again. As a companion to her young cousin, Fanny, Georgette's live is about to take a 360 degree turn when they traverse the ballrooms of regency London as Fanny husband hunts.
Meeting, Charles Duke of Eversley, in the gardens at the latest party, Georgette immediately recognizes the Duke as Sebastian's brother-in-law. Unbeknown to Georgette, Charles is an English spy against the French. Having lost his French wife in the revolution, Charles swore to never love again. He spent the next 10 years spying for England; he's now on the trail of an English traitor. Georgette seems to always be at the right place at the right time to either intercept a coded cipher and hear secret meetings. She and the Duke join forces to match wits and catch the traitor.
Can Charles and Georgette let go of past hurts and lost loves? Will they catch the traitor and bring him or her to justice? My reviews for romance novel, Regency Romance: The Mad Heiress, follows.
CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:
Regency Romance: The Mad Heiress, suspense filled regency romance, is a fast paced and entertaining book bundle. Thorne transitioned each story smoothly from book to book. I love to read continuing stories as I feel I know the characters and invested in their life. Thorne grabs the reader's attention immediately and does not let go until the last sentence in the book. With well-developed characters and a cast of secondary characters, this bundle will provide hours of enjoyment.
The pace of each book is smooth and steady as we follow Charles, Fanny, and Georgette as they try to identify the villain and bring him/her to justice. The addition of the Duke's sister was a great inclusion into the story. What a piece of work she was! You will love to hate her; don't you just hate it when a mean villainous harpy turns their life around?
Finally, in concluding my reviews for romance novel, Regency Romance: The Mad Heiress, Thorne's writings clear and clean with well-developed characters and an intriguing story-line. Thorne's main characters came to terms with old hurts and lost love to live life to the fullest. At times I wanted to shake Charles, even though he was a Duke. As for Georgette, I loved watching this strong woman realize an immature young love is no match for mature love . Thorne even threw in a little paranormal into the story-line which added extra depth. I loved this book bundle and would not hesitate to buy this book for my self or a friend.
