China is always a the forefront of financial and political debts. With the recent protests in Hong Kong, it will be interesting to get some much-needed information on the Chinese landscape and culture. Thanks for a very informative and well-composed review.

Seems interesting but the setting takes place in this book is not my interest.

Sounds like an engaging historical fiction book. Unfortunately, the romance aspect stops me from reading the book (romance genres don't interest me). I'll skip the book. Sorry.

You made the book sound interesting despite the drawbacks you mentioned, and I really wouldn't mind them. Good job on the review!

I like this novel that captures two genres in one, namely historical and romance. I also like the poetic writing style employed by the author. Thanks for the wonderful review.

The book does sound nice. I do share your distaste when it comes to overuse of exclamation marks and ellipsis, it makes the book seem so fictional with little proof of reality.

I love historical fiction because you get to learn about an era through the stories. This novella set during the cultural revolution in China, is intertwined with Chun Ming's romantic story while allowing the reader to see the occurrences through her eyes. The poetic language the author employs is an added bonus that got me to add this book to my reading list. Great job on the review. It got me convinced.

I like the historical discussion on the Cultural Revolution in China whose purpose was to eradicate capitalism. In addition, reading about the romance between Chun and Fang will be a bonus. Thanks for a nice review.

I have always liked historical fiction but the romance of this story put me off. I'll pass on this one. Great review.

The storyline reads like a memoir and is set in a time period of cultural and political revolution in China. I think it would appeal to fans of the romance as well as political genre. Thank you for the detailed review.
