The child abuse is more of an underlying current, rather than the main storyline. The story is not about the characters as children, but they do go back to memories at times.Rina D wrote:Reading about childhood abuse is going to be an emotional journey and when themes such as foster care and adoption and not unexpectedly alcohol and adoption are added,a box of tissues will be a prerequisite to reading. Its grapic viloence is not gor the faint hearted and was difficult to read. It is the personal growth and human interaction and survival techniques that draw you in. At times a bit laboured. A confronting book though on the whole well written- a brave author.
