Catherine Lawrence is a reflection of many women who first focus on their careers first only to realise that their romantic lives are essential as well.

The sample starts with a crisis, making this historical romance novel a very compelling read! Sounds like this will be a bumpy ride for Catherine, the main female character. I love that there is the clash between love relationship and carreer, thanks for highlighting that!

The review makes an interesting point that this romance novel is trying to be inspirational and resist cliches, which are typical for romance novels. Main character is a strong woman who must make difficult decisions in her career and romantic life.

Review of a compromising position

Catherine Lawrence finds herself in a rewarding position as campaign manager for Russell Tillman, a milestone in her career. Amidst the competitive world of politics, she thrives professionally but grapples with a growing sense of loneliness. Her life takes an unexpected turn when Jake, an attractive Australian surfer, moves in next door and expresses interest in her. As their relationship develops, Catherine wrestles with balancing her career aspirations and personal life, unsure if Jake will accept playing second fiddle to her professional commitments.

Diane Merrill Wigginton's "A Compromising Position" offers a light-hearted exploration of love and sacrifice. Set against the backdrop of sunny Florida, the story unfolds through Catherine's perspective as she navigates the complexities of romance alongside her demanding job. The chemistry between Catherine and Jake is a highlight, portrayed with tasteful sensuality and palpable tension. As their connection deepens, readers are drawn into their evolving relationship, eager to see if it transcends physical attraction.

What sets the book apart is its focus on Catherine's career as a campaign manager, adding depth to her character and defying conventional romance tropes. Catherine emerges as a strong, independent woman dedicated to her professional success, refusing to prioritize romance over her ambitions. Amidst managing political scandals and crises, Catherine's resilience shines through, captivating readers with her wit and determination.

Overall, "A Compromising Position" is a thoroughly enjoyable read, characterized by engaging storytelling and polished prose. With its compelling characters and emphasis on both romance and career, the book earns a solid five-star rating. It's a recommended choice for readers seeking an immersive romance that strikes a balance between sweetness and sensuality.

I like the plot of the story. It takes a rather interesting dimension, where a woman holds onto her career and her romantic thirst. It is quite thrilling to learn how she balances and maintains both, even when she wants to forego love initially. I agree with the reviewer, that the book, A Compromising Position will attract a throng of readers. I would be happy to read it too! :)

Hi @ Jay Lu, I just read your comments on the official review of "A Compromising Position" and I really enjoyed the way you summarized your comments. I enjoyed the sample and the official review and will read the remainder of the book to learn if Catherine develops a relationship with Jake, if Patricia becomes involved with Tillman even though he is married to Angela and if Tillman wins the election. @Mrlefty0706
