I took a break from them for a while and just started a new one today. Hopefully there will be some plot twist that makes it a break from the normal billionaire/poor girl story line.

I like them and read them all the time regardless of the type of romance novel it is. There are a few times I have gotten tired of them but at these points I just switch to another topic and then go back to them when I am ready.

I think after reading books that are all the same you just have to switch it up some. Because reading the something all the tie does get old weather it is billionaire or something different

i think the billionaire phase is just that; a phase. the fad will go along with the need to read vampire books, or wizard books, or dystopian society books, or sexy cowboy books, etc etc etc. it doesnt mean its bad, just overplayed but if you think about it, authors are giving readers what they ask for, but the reader is just getting bored with being indulged. i dont think well enter a new phase until that one author decides they want to take a leap of fate and writes a book he or she thinks the readers want, even if they dont know it yet.

however, it is natural to descend aboiut wondering why the big fuss over the same kinds of books. i dont think anyone should 'broaden their spectrum' of reading if they dont want to. spice romance eroticas are just as good as timely novels from people who have been dead for centuries as long as they both succeed in making the reader think about passion.

I'm probably going to offend, but my inner literary snob is in hysterics. As a genre...erotica is no where near on par with good literature that has stood the test of time. I have read good romance novels, even a few that were well written (though they are scarce) but torrid sex with your secretary will never be the stuff of great literary significance. There is a difference between titillation and love. I enjoy romance novels, and even billionaire romance novels on occasion, but meeting someone, immediately having sex with them, and then spending 90% of your relationship in bed is not the basis of a healthy relationship or a realistic one. I feel that erotic novels typically tell us that sex and love are interchangable, that because someone is attractive and good at sex then things are all going to work out. They are kinky fairy tales, and great for escapism, but please don't limit yourself to only that. If you need sex to get you to read...read Chaucer, who is possibly the filthiest author I have ever read. Read Ovid or Sappho or D.H. Lawrence...class up your porn a little. Most people will be impressed and you will open your self up to a new experience.

i think that billionaire romances are as popular as they are because they incorporate characters ever person wants to have or wants to be. for example, they either want a rich man to sweep them off their feet (if we are talking about the typical reader of these books-females) or they want to read about the female in the book who got swept off her feet, wishing they were her. i agree it gets old, but i enjoy them as a simple indulgence only.

I think it's a little over done but at the same time it all depends on the author for me. Lynda Chance does a really good rich alpha male imo. When it comes to other authors thou it gets to be a little redundant.

I love some of the billionaire romances. They can be exciting, funny, very romantic, but all too often...unrealistic. Sometimes fantasy is a great escape! Try Cherise Sinclair, Sylvia Day, Lilliana Hart, Bethany Michaels, Bianca Sommerland, and Abigail Barnette for starters. Yes, lots of hot sex, dominant males (all with 6 pack abs, lol) and a good amount of bdsm. I find them very entertaining!

Hi, I'm new around here, and I hope you don't mind me butting in n this convo. I own and run a book review site, so a lot of books come my way. I couldn't help but notice the dissatisfaction here to do with Billionaire storylines lacking ROMANCE. To tell you the truth I agree with what's been said so far on the Cinderella aspect of Billionaire plots. That said, I thoroughly recommend "The Billionaire's Dilemma - Identical Twin Mistresses". It's different, it's funny, it's heart-wrenching, and it's steamy romance at it's best. I really don't think you'll be disappointed with the lion scenes! Here's the back cover write-up: In the past Tania has masqueraded as Nina at parties, and likewise Nina had to pretend to be Tania. As far as Tania is concerned one more act of deception isn’t going to hurt anybody. Despite Nina’s reluctance, she’s won over by Tania’s pleading ways and travels to London on a pre-arranged date with a Polo playing playboy.

Allessandre, convinced he’s been duped, is determined to unveil the twins and teach them a lesson they won’t forget. Revenge proves bittersweet when the one he desires takes flight. Forced to travel half way around the globe in attempt to redeem his unforgivable behaviour he has no idea the woman he loves walks with lions, nor that a lioness will challenge his desire to be her one and only.

It's available via Amazon com. The Billionaire's Dilemma: Identical Twin Mistresses.

I've been enjoying the Billionaire stories lately. That being said I too feel the Cinderella aspect of pretty much every one of these books is getting old. I also am getting tired of every rich man having some twisted back story which prevents them from falling in love with the other character. I understand that it builds the story up and makes it that much better when the two characters finally do connect....but can't it be something different for a change?

There are a lot of Billionaire Romances that have a lot of the same plot, and it can get tiring, but there are some, kind of like a diamond in the rough kind of thing that are really good and make you want to keep reading.

I've got to be honest, some are really trashy, and just make you want to stop reading in the spot, but, for me at least, i don't let it deter me from reading similar books.

oh, but i have noticed, that some have that whole dominant BDSM going on, and its giving these books a stereotype.

Am I that out of the loop? I haven't read any of the billionaire books but just recently downloaded quite a few that were free. Now I'm afraid to read them based on everyone's opinions here. :(
