KarinaBordas wrote: 05 Oct 2018, 15:26 The different perspective of such a well known story as Job is intriguing. Although this is a fictional work, there is definitely a part of me that wonders what Job's wife felt as Job endured many hardships. It sounds as if Koelker has created a picture that seems quite believable. I look forward to reading this novel. Thanks for the excellent review!
Job's wife also endured many of the hardships, as well....ie loss of children, accustomed lifestyle, status, etc. I have already purchased the book since reading the sample. I do enjoy reading about a new perspective on an old, familiar story from the Bible. This one looks to be spectacular! Great review, and congratulations to the author for attaining BOTD honors and for writing this awesome book!

I enjoyed the story of Job in the Bible as a child. I wondered why Job's wife would want her husband to curse God and die. Again, I would like the author to clear me on where she got the name Ix'ises from. Is it fictional or did I miss that portion of the Bible? Thanks!

I'm very intrigued by this review. The first is the uplifting Christian romance book. I adore the review since it highlights the book's excellent qualities. The last I heard, Job's wife responded as fate had planned. My belief is that she was compelled to do so by the circumstances. Congratulations on earning BOTD; nice book.

This fictional book seems very interesting. The story is formed around the biblical Job and his trial from his wife's perspective. Thanks for the review.

The book seems interesting and heartwarming and despite all the tragedy it is full of hope. But Christian fiction is not my cup of tea. Still I'm sure the book will find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Wow, this seems like a great book with a unique, never-before-thought-of view of one of the parts of the scriptures. It's a change from the common viewpoint of how faithless Job's wife was, to placing oneself in her shoes to try experience what she felt after losing everything for supposedly no good reason. Congrats on BOTD selection.
The gift turned out to be a curse. They killed him with kindness.

Although not my kind of story, I sincerely hope that interested readers can get some enjoyment from this fictional retelling of the biblical story. Writing it from the perspective of Job's wife is an interesting take for this retelling.

I don't know who Job is, and I don't know if I need to know him before reading this, but I know that I can't imagine what it is like for a woman who lost ten children!

"The Legacy of Job's Wife" by Cynthia Koelker is a very unique book because not many books have an account of what made the Job's wife have the mind to ask the husband to cause God. I will consider reading.

According to the Reviewer, this book is "a heart-warming Christian fiction story," which is a genre in which I am not interested. Nevertheless, I'm certain those who enjoy these types of things will appreciate it.

Unfortunately, I will have to admit that the whole "Story of Love and Forgiveness" business is the main reason I dislike the Romance genre so very much. I love to read action, suspense and adventure, I am not sentimental enough to cry over fictional tragedy and since real life offers too much negative as it is, feel unnecessary add to it someone's imagination. Apologies, but I will have to pass it.

It is a good thing that the author brought out the human side of Job's wife some one could see reasons why she acted and said things the way she did in the Bible. It's quite interesting to read. Kudos to Cynthia Koelker

I am not a fan of Christian books but this one is delightful! Rarely have I read such poetic narration! I would really love to read it all, given the time. Perfect review as well!
