Stealing Alan’s Heart by Leah J Busboom is a fun read. It follows Brianna, a supermodel. She is trying to branch out of the world of modeling by going to college. She is sick of being treated as only a pretty face; she wants to show the world that she has a brain as well. One of her friends in her Psych 101 classes is also determined to set Brianna up with her older brother, Alan. He is incredibly smart and works for the Generals baseball team as a data analyst. He compares statistics to determine the more statistically sound lineup for each game. After expressing interest, and an instinct for statistics, Brianna is hired by Alan to help as his assistance.

The development of this book was very interesting. Brianna and Alan's relationship started with a friendly hostility. Alan tried to maintain a professional relationship, and Brianna does everything in her power to break through the wall. Their dialogue was convincing. It was also fun to read. Overall, their relationship evolved in a unique manner; it was my favorite part of the novel.

The only part of this book I disliked was the writing style. It was very simplistic. The language utilized was easy to understand, but it lacked depth; there was a lot of telling and not a lot of showing. The writing was a weak point in the book because it did not meet the strength of the characters or plot. I would say the lack of strong imagery was my least favorite part of the book. I would like to note that it was not a strong dislike, merely the least well-done part of the novel; there was nothing I truly disliked about this book.

Regarding the grammar, there were a few tiny errors. They were very insignificant, and they did not impact my ability to follow the story.

I am happy to rate this novel a perfect 4 out of 4 stars. It was a fun, quick read. Lovers of romance would enjoy it. It also gives an interesting look into how statistics and math impact baseball; if any of those topics interest you, this book would be a good read for you. There is some mention of sexual activity in the book but nothing graphic. I would recommend this book for teenagers and up because of that. Some scenes mention rape, so if such content bothers you, do not read this book. Otherwise, this is a well-developed romance novel.

It sounds like a nice read for the beach or a Sunday afternoon. I'll admit, baseball and statistics aren't exactly my thing, but it sounds like the romance takes precedent over that, so that's good. Thanks for the review!
