What do you guys think about all of the billionaire romance novels? Is anyone else getting a little tired of them? I love them, but lately I've been wanting something different to read.

Who is the author of the Billionaire Romances? I've never heard of them and I am always looking for a new series to start.

I agree. I lately if I even see wealthy or billionaire in the description I'm rolling my eyes.

Funny you should mention this. I recently purchased a Kindle Billionaire Romance bundle (it was cheap), and I was so disgusted with the first couple of books I just deleted the entire bundle.

I suppose some people could argue that they're completely sexist, and perhaps they are, but if there's a genuine element of romance (love), then I have no problem with them. Jayne Ann Kentz has written a few books with this plot line, and they were great.

The problem with some of the Billionaire "Romances" I'm reading these days is that there doesn't seem to be an ounce of romance. It turns out to be a book about a woman with no morals whatsoever, having sex with a really rich guy. Or more than one rich guy. There's no love, and certainly no romance. I'm not even sure why they're called "romances."

So, for the time being, I'm not going to be buying anymore. I just can't trust that I'm going to purchase a real romance.

There are definitely a lot of those types of books out especially geared more towards the dominant relationship. I try to keep those types of books unless its a series broken up between the other types of books i enjoy reading, paranormal, action romance just to give my self a break like with any other book.

Folks, maybe you all just need to broaden your reading a tad.
For real romance you need to read Jane Eyre, Anna Karenina or Pride and Prejudice to start with.
.... Ah well, I can only try - at least reading something is better than not reading at all I guess.

Fran I also agree with that. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite classic books and the ones you mentioned I have on my reading list. I do think an open mind where books are involved is a must.

Jane Eyre is actually one of my favourite books. Please don't assume that I'm not a "real" reader simply because I buy the occasional Billionaire Romance or Jayne Ann Krentz novel. I love to read. Period. And I happily read everything from classic romances and award-winning books (To Kill a Mockingbird is my all-time favourite), to cozy mysteries and romance fiction. My bookshelves are also filled with non-fiction titles. I'm sure the same applies to all the readers on this thread. We just happened to be discussing one particular type of novel - obviously not the type of novel you read. That's fine. We all have different tastes. But please don't put us down or insult us, simply because we read for fun.

Anyway, where in my post did I suggest you or anyone else wasn't a "real reader"? I merely suggested that anyone who is
"getting a little tired of" a particular genre should consider widening there reading choices.
Now I wonder why you take such offence at that little suggestion?

I agree with you. I loved Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice.

I am getting sick of billionaire romances actually. Almost the same storyline for about every book I've read. Read billionaire male figure and a really pretty girl.

I consider these cinderella tales, we have all heard em before and in real life almost NEVER happens. They do make the occasional mindless entertainment category.

I actually have a billionaire series that I really enjoyed. It is about the fathers of the billionaires scheming to find wives for their sons.
