[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "The Silver Linings Wedding Dress Auction" by Mary Oldham.]
The Silver Linings Wedding Dress Auction by Mary Oldham speaks of Leslie Marie Westcott, who has gone through heartbreaks just after picking her wedding dresses. This story is about her romantic life with different men. She experiences a breakup just after picking a wedding dress. Leslie's aunt, Trudel, is about to use Leslie's wedding dresses for her "Silver Linings Wedding Dress Auction," which Leslie wasn't quite pleased with. In all, will she be able to love again? Even if she does, will she trust the man enough to pick up another wedding dress?
This is a very interesting story. I found most parts of this book amazingly. Firstly, the main character in the book, Leslie, has a nice personality with a charming character. I love how she picks up the pieces of her life and starts again after each breakup. I understand that this could be very difficult for most people who experience such a situation. Throughout the book, I took notice of Leslie's courage to handle another relationship after a previous breakup.
In the book, I love the author's utmost sincerity about the character of Peggy in playing her role. Peggy, the receptionist, was something else. Her role made me anticipate more of her in the book. Considering the way Leslie's relationship with Jack ended, I would admit that their relationship has a lot to teach every reader. Their relationship has so much to teach. Living with a lie in a relationship is one of the most challenging situations to be in. This attitude has broken many promising relationships.
I love the fact that each wedding dress symbolizes an idea about relationships and also what the dress signifies. For instance, at the end of chapter twelve, the "Silver Linings Dress Auction, Dress Number Eighteen" was titled "communication." This book contains a lot of lessons to learn about relationships. I learned a lot from this book that I've never learned from any book.
This book deserves a perfect rating of 4 out of 4 stars. I found nothing negative about it. Ladies like me will quickly appreciate the topic of discussion. I only found a few errors in the book. Since they didn't distract from the book's clarity, I reserve a perfect rating for this book. I recommend this book to those who appreciate romance books. It will be a wonder how this book might change somebody's intention to give up on love.
