Review of Make Me Yours
Most people who haven't found love yet are constantly looking, hoping to find their perfect spouses. Everyone deserves someone who'd love them unconditionally. However, finding an ideal spouse who will be willing to love you unconditionally can be very tricky, especially at this age and time. This, however, doesn't mean it's hopeless for anyone looking for love. Make Me Yours: Sisters Looking For a Few Good Men Book 1 by Olivia Houde is a fictional romance book about relationships and how two characters find each other and fall in love.
After getting involved in a fatal road accident, Rochelle is rescued by Lamar, a handsome man with blue eyes. Although injured, she immediately falls in love with him. Even after she's taken to the hospital, she still thinks of him. She is amazed when she wakes up and finds him beside her bed. Does he feel the same way? Is this the beginning of true and endless love, or, like other Rochelle's relationships, will it be another failed relationship?
This book has thirty pages. Although it's short, it is divided into ten chapters. It is written from both the first-person and the third-person points of view. Most of the narration is in the present tense.
This book has several flaws. First, the book is very short. For a romance novel, thirty pages are hardly enough. Second, the storyline is very predictable. The book has absolutely no unexpected twists or anything to keep you turning the pages. Third, the author's writing style is tough to follow. For instance, the narration is switched from one character to another without warning. For example, the following paragraph is an excerpt from page twenty-one.
This may be hard to believe, but the first part of this paragraph, up to "of course," is narrated by Lamar. After that, the author switched the narrator to Rochelle. This isn't the only instance where the narrator is changed unexpectedly. Fourth, the sex scenes are described very explicitly. This, therefore, isn't a romance novel; this is erotica. Fifth, I found several grammatical errors in this book. It's almost as if it wasn't edited at all. In fact, I found more than ten grammatical errors within the first five pages of the book.We made love again that night and again the next morning when we awoke. She slept over, of course, lying with him in his bedroom on his King-size bed with a dozen pillows.
In conclusion, there's nothing I liked about this book. It has a predictable storyline and poorly developed characters. I, therefore, rate it 1 out of 4 stars. I recommend it to anyone who likes erotica books but doesn't mind spelling or grammar mistakes.
