His Other Bride, by Lorane Hopkins, is an intriguing romance novel. Prince Nasser Korkov of Resbekkistan wed Yvonna Abdulov, but halfway through the evening, the bride excused herself and left the wedding party. Afterwards, she disappeared. She had been chosen for the prince at birth, but she had run away with the man she truly loved. Meanwhile, Yvonna had an identical twin sister, Yazmina, in America. Yazmina didn't know she had a twin sister somewhere. To avoid embarrassment, the king finally agreed that Yazmina should be brought to the palace to pretend to be Prince Nasser's wife until the issue with Yvonna was sorted out.

Eventually, Yazmina was approached by the king's aide with an offer, which she couldn't say no to. She didnt accept the proposal for just the money; she saw it as an opportunity to meet a sister she never knew. She arrived in Resbekkistan, and there arose an attraction between her and the prince. While pretending to be her sister, she and the prince began a romance, which put the prince in a dilemma because he had to follow tradition and only marry the woman his father chose for him. A search began for Yvonna, but if she was found, would she return as Prince Nasser's wife? Prince Nasser and Yazmina had finally found true love. Would fate keep them together forever?

This book is captivating, having a strong plot that unveils intriguing events, particularly the ones that took place during Prince Nasser and Yazmina's pretend honeymoon. Containing 149 pages, it's a quick and well-narrated read. The author provided enough happenings to make it satisfactory, especially the twists that sometimes occurred after the prince and Yazmina had great moments together. Besides, it shows the predicaments that people experience in societies that still support arranged marriages.

Moreover, though the characters are few, the author described them in a vivid manner. Prince Nasser is portrayed as a good son that does whatever his father and people desire. Yazmina is a straightforward woman, who knows and goes for what she wants.

However, being a romance book, His Other Bride comprises some explicit sexual scenes, which are appropriate for a mature audience. Though I enjoyed reading it, readers that frown at the above feature may want to skip it.

Finally, I rate His Other Bride 4 out of 4 stars. It doesn't deserve less because it's well written and entertaining. There's nothing I don't like about it, and in addition, it was well edited. I noticed just one typo. It'll be a rewarding feast for fans of romance books.
