Pride and prejudice by Jane Austen

I think this is the greatest romance novel of all time, set in the year 1813, Austen's pride and prejudice follows the opinionated heroine, Elizabeth Bennett, as she frequently finds herself at odds with her Beau, the uptight Mr. Darcy. I would recommend this book to anyone who is in love historical and classical romance. In 2006, Keira Knightley earned an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Bennett on the big screen.

If you haven't seen the BBC adaption, I'd strongly recommend it! Best movie version of this book that I've seen.
My all time favorite book! Read multiple times, and I actually have a quote from it as my first tattoo.

I absolutely love Pride and Prejudice but Persuasion is my favorite. I prefer the characters of Elizabeth and Darcy, but the story of Anne and Captain Wentworth. I also agree with the previous commenter about the BBC adaptation. Colin Firth is amazing!

I regret to say that I have yet to read any true classics. I plan on it very soon though as Pride and Prejudice does sound like something I would enjoy.

COLIN FIRTH is, um, VERY tasty in the BBC version. I love all versions of the book, though!

My obsession with the book got my mum worried a little about me. It actually gave me one of the best quote I know . “Do anything rather than marry without affection.” - Jane Bennet in pride and prejudice.

I watched the bbc adaptation before reading the book and I enjoyed the TV series so much that I found myself disappointed by the book. In the book, I found the main Miss Bennett to be a little arrogant and judgemental. I preferred the character in the TV show.

Pride and Prejudice is a wonderful book. I love the characters and the storyline. I have read this book twice. I have also read Emma, which was good, but didn't enjoy it as much.

I like the fact that it introduced a new topic, and sends the idea that a woman's life isn't about marriage. It's easy to read and I just love the language used. Darcy is the perfect gentleman, a little bit quiet and shy but with strong values and doesn't judge easily. A great plot and all kinds of characters.

In my first year of middle school, my eyes were opened to the extensive world of classics, and Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen was a particularly well-known classic. Therefore I began that book as my first ever classic, and went from reading a few pages a day to reading thirty to fifty per day, unable to put it down for any reason at all. Austen’s character development and constant conflict between characters with all varying personalities will never cease to amaze me along with the rest of the world. One of my favorite books of all time, the language and meticulousness of this book is beyond imagination and the wanting for happy endings and character relationships is unbelievable. It is remarkable how an author can make a reader get so intrigued and invested in a text from so long ago and with such different language and style, making it as if it were written now, but so much more valuable than any other text written lately. Elizabeth Bennet, Jane Bennet, Mr. Darcy, Charlotte Lucas…the list of incredible characters go on! The themes that develop throughout the story that allude to the title and previous chapters are astonishing in the greatest possible way. I highly recommend this book. The experience of reading this book is invaluable. It is granted every possible star!
