The Night Owl Trilogy

Post by jasminehambrick »

The Night Owl Trilogy by M. Pierce was awesome! awesome! awesome! I love this series and I've only read the first two books, the 3rd book doesn't come out until next year, the release date is not too far away but far away enough for me to be impatient because the books are just that good. This will be the next big adult love story in the movies after 50 Shades of Grey premieres. This series is about Matthew Sky, a trust fund baby that happens to be a very successful anonymous writer and Hannah Catalano, a college educated 27 yr old young woman who dumped her no good boyfriend and quit her job to move back to her hometown of Denver, CO to move back in with her parents. Matthew and Hannah meet on the internet when Matt posts an ad on a writing forum to help him write, Hannah responds and therefore their writing partnership begins. Matt insists that they do not discuss any of their personal lives, ,no pictures, no personal emails, etc., they just chat on Skype. Until one day by mistake Hannah emails a post to Matt from her personal email that contains a picture on her header and from that moment on Matt becomes obsessed with Hannah. Matt becomes intrigued by Hannah and even though Hannah has never seen Matt, they start having phone sex. It starts out as something just fun, but it just happens to be a coincidence that Matt currently lives in CO. Though Matt, said he didn't want to get personal , he keeps pushing the limits and they wind up meeting each other and a sexual encounter ensues. Matt knows he shouldn't have, but he just can't get enough and soon starts to wine and dine Hannah. Matt is treading thin water, because while he tries to impress Hannah with his sexual escapades and taking her out and having wonderful conversation , he still has a girlfriend. Hannah knows very little about Matt even though they started taking their relationship beyond the internet. She doesn't know that he is a very successful writer or that he's her favorite writer, she doesn't even know what he does for a living. Matt has a colorful past and he has a knack for storytelling, especially when he's trying to remain anonymous. But what is done in the dark always comes to light and soon all of Matt's secrets come to light. So where does that leave Hannah and what does this mean for there relationship and what will take Matt over the edge next. I love how M. Pierce included a little bit of herself in the novel, how intense she made Matt's character and his relationship with Hannah, how needy it was, and how it is impossible to live without each other. Everything is great, the setting, even the supporting characters. The book is very well written, and I could visualize every word that she wrote and this is why it belongs in the movies. Great plot, great characters, great times! Just keep a lookout on a local theater near you because it is coming soon.
