Find Her is the first novella in a new romance series written by Amanda Kaitlyn.

Aria Morgan and Gavin Thomas are two people dealing with painful pasts. Years ago, Gavin was jilted at the altar by a former girlfriend and consequently closed himself off to love. But recently he's been left vulnerable with the death of his father. Taking over the family corporation is not something he expected to do so soon.

Aria is a dancer who spent years with a violent boyfriend who left her with bruises she couldn't explain. The sudden death of her brother after a car accident jolts her into realizing this is not the life she should be living. When her boyfriend comes home and discovers her intent to end the relationship, he leaves her with one last act of violence that lands her in the hospital and unable to dance for months.

From the moment they meet, Aria and Gavin are inexplicably drawn to one another. Neither of them were looking for a relationship, but they allow themselves to open up to each other in ways that are new to both of them. Aria and Gavin fall for each other fast and hard, with Aria learning to believe that maybe she is deserving of a man who will cherish and respect her. But is their new relationship strong enough to endure an ex who suddenly comes back into the picture?

Aria's character is the selling point for this book. The storyline is more about her finding true love for the first time and less about dealing with the trauma of her abusive relationship. That angle has been done so many times before and the context in which we pick up the story after she has already spent time really working on healing herself was refreshing. A lot of characters in her position tend to get stuck in the "why did this happen to me?" mode that becomes tedious to read about after awhile.

This book has some major content problems. It reads like a first draft that no one has bothered to proofread. The grammatical errors are glaring and the use of "their" versus "they're" is used incorrectly just as often as it is used correctly. The biggest issue is with the abundant continuity problems. I still can't discern how old Aria is. In one instance it talks about her college career at Columbia, and in another it says she just graduated high school a year ago. One night Aria and Gavin fall asleep in her bedroom at her apartment, somehow wake up at Gavin's apartment, and then they're back in her apartment when there's a knock on the door. I looked at these sentences over and over again to make sure I wasn't misreading anything. And these are just a couple of the mistakes. It was very distracting and hard to read because I kept feeling like I was missing something or not paying attention.

I really went back and forth on what to rate this and finally settled on 2 out of 4 stars. I really did enjoy the main characters and the overall plot, but some serious editing needs to be done.
