Steampunk Romance: Thoughts and Recommendations

I stumbled onto Bec McMaster and her London Steampunk series, and I just couldn't stop reading, "Heart of Iron" is by far and away my favorite because I thought I knew Will and Lena from the previous books in the series. Boy was I surprised by their back stories and how they finally worked out their issues in a seemingly impossible romance. The steampunk genre is surprisingly fun for me considering my usually stickler nature in regards to history and dislike of science. The genre is also a little more expensive than I am used to, so I have been reluctant to buy any new authors although I did try Shelly Adina. She pleasantly surprised me with how fun her books are considering that they are very light on the romance side of things, which would normally turn me off. So, I am curious what other readers think of this genre and if there are any other gems in the genre that I am just too chicken to try?
