I loved this book! I would rate it 5/5 stars. I finished it pretty quickly since I wasn't able to walk away from my Kindle for 5 minutes without wanting to know what happened next. I loved that the characters, Con and Vanessa, were more than the author first makes you believe. Con is the classic bad boy, arrogant, jerk. It actually started to get kind of annoying how jerky he was. But throughout the book, his character grows and it becomes impossible not to fall in love with him. I am pretty sure I dreamed of him the night I finished that book. Anyway...Vanessa is the prissy princess type of girl who comes off as thinking she is too good for everyone around her. That was also quite annoying at the beginning. It was great to see both of them change throughout the book.
There was sexual tension between the two of them basically the entire book. Believe me when I say, it is hot! I found myself feeling for the characters, laughing with them, getting frustrated with them. The author did a great job at making me connect with the book as a whole. This book can be read as a standalone but there is a book before it, Beneath this Mask. I chose to read it by itself thinking it wouldn't be so great, but now I will be going backwards and reading the first book. You should definitely consider reading this book
