This book was...okay. I originally downloaded the free sample on my Nook and instantly fell in love with the easy friendship and witty banter between Ivy and Gray in their exchanged text messages. I couldn't wait to read more, so I hurriedly purchased the book to continue reading. Maybe my expectations were a little high, because I was disappointed and bored by the time I finished. I have a strict must-finish rule for every book I start reading, but I considered breaking my rule on this one. The book did little to hold my attention and I found my mind wandering for about 40% of it. I had trouble connecting with the characters and the storyline felt messy and rushed. The conflicts seemed thrown in and not very well thought out.

I feel like so much more work could have been put into this story to make it great. The chemistry between Ivy and Gray is undeniable, so it was a great foundation, but both of them seemed very two dimensional.

On a positive note, Ivy's sister was hilarious as was a scene where Ivy was dancing, my mouth was watering every time Ivy started baking and I swooned at how sweet Gray is. As I said, this story had a lot of potential, and I was looking forward to seeing so many more things happen.

This book was littered with grammatical errors that sometomes made sentences a little confusing, which takes away from the story, in my opinion.

It really could have been a novella, because there was a lot of nonsense that could have been cut out and there just wasn't much going on within the story without further development into the characters and each of the conflicts that arose. Usually I read books repeatedly, but this will definitely only be a one time read for me.
