Noah Ryan and Julianna (Jules) White never had a fighting chance, young and in love with decisions that can have devastating outcomes. Many people factor into major life decisions of young people, parents having the greatest influence in these soul mates struggle. Parent’s wills and choices are believed to be best but what happens the adults in your life don’t make the right choice…or did they, and everything happened as it should.

I fell in love with this book. Not instantly but quickly, I spent the first chapter or so off balance, not figuring what was happening, who the characters were and trying to guess the first of many secrets. It was as if the author knew where she wanted to go but not how to start their story. Oh, but once it started, I was hooked.

The story line was refreshing and different from the mounds of romance novels I’ve read. Although, I started to know/guess what the next revelation was going to be well before it was revealed. It didn’t detract from the story; in fact, it felt right, like it wasn’t meant to shock you it was part of the character development and the insight that the author created for the reader. I started to truly feel like I knew the characters, therefore the outcomes mattered. It’s definitely a standalone novel that has a happy ending (and reading through the epilogue is worth it).

I give this book a 4 out of 4 rating, as it was well writing, nice character development and a unique story line. It will be on my highly recommend list for my fellow romance readers. The one piece that I didn’t like about this book as that the person who truly had more to answer for has already passed and never had to face the consequences of her actions. And although, the author did a nice job of creating closure of this issue, for me, I really wanted karma to be able to do its part. I will continue to watch for other books written by this author as it’s the first one of her novels that I have read.
