This book is all about redemption in life's messy mistakes. It begins with a teenage girl and her family situation, that is not good. The book follows 4 main characters. Ellie, a 15 year old girl who grows up in the book, Nolan, Ellie's highschool sweetheart, Caroline, Ellie's adultress mother, and Alan Ellie's abusive, father. This story follows each character and their distinct choices in life that lead to a brokenness that the reader is sure will never be resolved. As the book gains momentum, the reader is taken on a trip through broken hearts, death, sadness, loneliness, and last of all Love. Not just a mushy romantic type of love, but a true to life, real love despite all the messiness of life. I enjoyed the book so much that it took less then 24 hours to finish the 30 chapters. I did find the ending to be a bit flat, and melodramatic though.
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy good, clean, romantic stories.
