Review: Beautiful Wedding by Jamie McGuire

My Rating: 1 out of 4
First of all, I am so sorry to a lot of people who like this book. I have looked at the Goodreads rating and I was a bit surprised to see the high rating. That means a lot of people like this book, but it turns out to be not for me.
Most probably because I can never agree to the idea of love relationship in this book. It seems very simple, but somehow it doesn't make sense to me. I don't get how the relationship became so assuring to both of the characters, because it doesn't assure my feeling as a reader at all. Everything was too rushed and I hope there are more detailings to emphasize how Travis and Abby get attached to each other so much. I do find the whole idea of getting married at the age of 18 is a bit too overwhelming. I believe this depends very much on the readers. Maybe because I'm not much of a believer in 'young marriage', that's why I don't like the book. But, if you are a big fan of 'young marriage', I believe you will like this book. The book is all about getting married anyway.
But, despite all that, I believe this book give the readers sufficient information on the basic things you need to get married. It is very simple and I like how Travis and Abby love the simplicity The conflict is very well-resolved and yes, you can see that somehow, someway, people can change to be a better person after they found love. The writing is also very understandable and it is very easy to read.
I hope there is more to the 145 pages of the book. I need more details and more stories instead of just the desire of both characters for each other. I just need more than that and I hope Jamie can give us more in her upcoming books.
