The Jessica Brodies Diaries by Willow summers is a series that includes three books, Back in the Saddle, Hanging On, and A Wild Ride. I absolutely love this series and have read it at least 4 times. The series follows Jessica Brodie, a 25 year old L.A. native who decides she needs a change of pace after waking up from a one night stand. She makes the decision to move to Texas after getting a new job and rents a pool house from an elderly woman who is beyond wealthy. Her first day in Texas, she runs into handsome cowboy William Davies who comes from a very wealthy and prestigious family. Despite their attraction, William tries staying just friends due to expectations his family has. This series is a story about the pair navigating a new relationship when they come from very different worlds and social circles. These books also include Jessica and William running into bad luck and trouble and how they get each other through these tough spots. Jessica’s character is extremely likeable and relatable, you can’t help but fall in love with her and be jealous of her and William’s relationship. The supporting characters in this series are awesome and hilarious, you will fall in love with them and their side stories as well.
This series had the right amount of comedy, romance, and danger/suspense. There were a few steamy scenes which were not over the top ridiculous or extremely vulgar. These books had me laughing out loud from the situations the characters found themselves in and the banter between all the characters. I was also always on the edge of my seat during the suspenseful moments, waiting to see what happened. There may have been a few minor grammatical errors or misspelled words but nothing to distract from the story. I would definitely recommend this series for others to read.
