Drew and Juliet Brock live in Lido Beach, Long Island. They also own a house in South Hampton. Drew is a Lawyer and Juliet a Teacher. They have twin daughters and grandchildren. Drew and Juliet Brock were having marriage problems when they decided to take a week - long vacation in South Hampton. In hopes of rekindling the romantic side of the relationship, they agreed it would be their second honeymoon. However, though, things took a wrong turn when an issue turned into a heated argument. Juliet stormed out of the house to take a walk to clear her mind by the beach when she saw from a distance, what looked like a woman struggling to save her life only being swept by the waves. There was nothing Juliet could think for her to do at the moment until luck had it her husband Drew had followed her to come check up on her, but found himself saving a woman. Juliet watched her husband become a hero. Instead of things becoming better afterwards, it just got more complicated.
Tammy Blake is the woman Drew rescued. Tammy and Drew became fast friends. Juliet did not take quite the same liking to her. Eventually Drew moved out and into Tammy's house. Drew and Juliet still remained married even though, he was living with someone else. Juliet had a hard time adjusting to her new life and swore off all men. One day she had enough of feeling sorry for herself. Even though she had vowed to never go back to South Hampton, she decided it might be good for her. It might help give her some closure. Her friend Darcy was going to go with her, but her husband had an accident that held her back. Juliet had already made up her mind to go anyway. The drive was going smoothly until she got closer to South Hampton, she made a last minute decision to take a different route. Bad idea, as she ended up in a card accident not too far from Drew and Tammy's house. The man involved is Edward Hasting, a plastic surgeon. Edward is a hopeless romantic, when he met the beautiful woman Juliet at that moment, all he could think of was to ask her out to dinner that night. Juliet rejected him given the circumstances. The rejection didn't stop him from trying to pursue her. When Drew later found out Juliet was in town he couldn't help but visit her. He found himself falling hard for her all over again. He missed her deeply and things started to get complicated at his house.
What was supposed to be a weekend at South Hampton turned into a longer visit then Juliet had anticipated. She found herself in the middle of being romanticized by two men. Drew was even talking about leaving Tammy. Juliet was intrigued about the thought of Drew moving out of Tammy's house and wanting to get back together with her.
Juliet was flattered when Edward asked her on a second date and said "yes." Even after one date it took some convincing from Edward to win her over. Especially with her husband by her side feeling as though he were trying to protect her with the rumors he would hear about Edward. As time went on Juliet grew fond of Edward, they ended up in a pretty close relationship. This did not stop Drew from trying to win her over. When Juliet receives a proposal from not just Edward but from Drew also, which Romeo will Juliet end up with? Will she go back to her husband or start a new life with Edward?
Love Edward by Jody Lagreca is a cute romance story. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it. It was such a good story I could not put it down. I liked how the author included Edward's and Juliet's baggage in the story. Sometimes we forget people have baggage they have to accept before pursuing a relationship.
There were not many things I did not like about the story. The only thing I can of is the character Tammy. I was bummed at the way her character was portrayed but I did get a surprise at the end that made me think differently about her. I did notice there were a few mistakes in the story. For instance, there were some symbols added into words instead of letters. That could have been a typo. There were a couple of the same words added in twice in a sentence.
Overall I wish I could give this story a 4 out of 4. With the mistakes, I am going to give it a 3 out of 4. Like I said before if you enjoy a good romance book where you don't know who the person is going to end up with I highly recommend this. However, keep your tissues on hand as their is a surprise that you won't see coming at the end. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did.
