In Good Hands by Billie Allen is a story about a woman's quest to experience sexual fulfillment in her marriage. It is an erotic romance novel that would most appeal to married women.

Laney, wife and mother, is feeling unfulfilled and overlooked in her sexual relationship with her husband. Their relationship is excellent, except for this one area. When Laney decides to go to a massage therapist for relaxation, she realizes that this may be a good method for getting her husband Dan more interested in sex. Shay, her massage therapist, agrees to help her learn techniques to enliven her husband in the bedroom. When Laney utilizes the techniques she's learned, a renewed sex life ensues and makes for a healthier and happier marriage.

Overall, I enjoyed this story. It was easy to empathize with Laney. She was a typical mother, with all of the activities and pressures that implies. She is a successful life coach and manipulates peoples' Chakras in her practice. I mention it only because I know that some readers would object to that practice. I also identified with Laney's desire for greater sexual fulfillment in her marriage. It was commendable in her to seek out methods for getting her husband more interested, though I was personally uncomfortable with the lengths she was willing to go to. In my view, she was simply justifying her behavior with Shay when she said it was permissible because she was learning how to have a better love life with her husband. I understand that this was meant to be a steamy romance novel, but I would have liked to have seen more consistent behavior from a character who was so set on remaining faithful to her husband.

The chapters are short, which makes it an ideal book to read in several quick sittings. The story's flow makes sense, though it sounds slightly awkward at time. I also noticed some editorial errors--mainly missing or incorrect words. Despite a few mistakes, the writing was good quality and clear.

I would rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. I didn't give this book a 4, because of the aforementioned errors and the occasional awkwardness. In Good Hands is a steamy romance novel which seems just right for married women who want to spice up their love lives. The subject matter is suitable for mature adults. I would recommend it to readers who enjoy romance and are not offended by erotic sexual scenes.

Too bad it contained errors and the character's actions weren't consistent, because it sounds like a good book. Even though I like the concept, I believe those issues are deal breakers for me. Great review!

Sounds like an interesting book. As a self-declared feminist, I would agree with Laney. If I were in her position, I think I would also take the initiative to do something about this issue :) Good job on the review.

Yeah, that's one thing that I appreciated about the book. She recognized that she needed more fulfillment but she still kept her commitment to her husband.
