Goddess by R.J. Castille is an erotic romance that will leave you wanting more. This story follows Goddess as she struggles with both parts of her life colliding and trying to figure out what she should do and which way she should go. Goddess always tries to do what is right for everyone involved, but will it be enough this time? Goddess is in a female’s point of view, so it enlightens the reader on how a female dominatrix navigates through “the scene.”
Leila King, also known as Goddess, leads two lives. By day, she is an executive assistant at G. Roth Associates that deals with everyday stresses and struggles. In her mundane life, she struggles with chronic anxiety and is constantly bombarded with the wrath of her boss, Gordon Roth. By night, she is the dominatrix, Goddess, that is revered in the BDSM world, and it begs for her mercy. She loves being able to peel off the layers of daily life, calling up her pet, Matthew, and relieving her stresses. She learned of this lifestyle from Master Jason that bestowed upon her the experience and knowledge to become the dominatrix that gave her the confidence she needed.
Her worlds collide when Master Jason invites her to the Red Velvet Room’s grand opening. As she is enjoying herself, she realizes her boss, Gordon Roth, is there and likes what he sees. Gordon wants her to teach him the ways to be a submissive and worship the ground that Goddess walks on. Can Leila handle dominating her boss and keeping her secret? Can she hold on to her pet while dominating Gordon, or will it all fall apart?
This book starts right off with a sex scene involving Goddess and her pet, but I liked how the story was not all about the sex. I think the author did a great job of actually telling Leila’s story along with adding the erotic parts. R.J. Castille shows that the characters in the BDSM world are everyday people that have a particular way of relieving their stress. Some people might go on vacations or have a hobby, but these individuals have this sexual, sensual lifestyle that helps reduce their stress or unhappiness. I would recommend this book to mature readers only because there are graphic details in the sex scenes.
I rate Goddess a 4 out of 4 stars. I found two errors where tenses were used incorrectly. In the sentences, I found that past tense was used, but present or future tense would have been a better choice. Overall this book flowed very well. Even though there were a couple of errors, it did not take away from the story, and that is why I did not rate it lower.
Anyone that loves a good romance that has erotic sex scenes would enjoy reading this book. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for Leila because there were some unanswered questions at the end. I looked on the author’s website and found that more of Goddess’ story is to come, but no known date is set.
